Metamark is a subsidiary company of Finnish multinational UPM and part of its UPM Adhesive Materials division. Metamark maintains a range of environmental, quality and management accreditations including Platinum Ecovadis recognition under the aegis of UPM. Metamark itself contributes with recent initiatives including the installation of a solar electricity generation plant which serves approximately 40% of Metamark manufacturing’s energy needs in the United Kingdom.

ISO 14001:2015 specifies the requirements for an environmental management system, the environmental responsibilities ensured a systematic manner that contributes to the environmental pillar of sustainability. Consistent with the organization's environmental policy, the intended outcomes of an environmental management system include enhance- ment of environmental performance, fulfilment of compliance obligations and achievement of environmental objective.

ISO 50001:2018 specifies the requirements for an energy management system. It helps to establish the systems and processes necessary to improve energy performance, including energy efficiency, use, and consumption. Using ISO 50001 helps to ensure that Metamark can consistently manage and reduce energy consumption, leading to cost savings, reduced environmental impact, and enhanced sustainability.

ISO 45001:2018 specifies requirements for an occupational health and safety (OH&S) management system. Consistent with the organization's OH&S policy, the intended outcomes of an OH&S management system include: continual improvement of OH&S performance; fulfilment of legal requirements and other requirements; achievement of OH&S objectives.

As part of UPM Kymmeme OYJ we are extremely proud to have been awarded a medal by EcoVadis, placing us among the top 1% of companies assessed by EcoVadis in the past 12 months. The Sustainability Rating from EcoVadis provides a detailed assessment of a company's sustainability performance in areas such as Environment, Labor & Human Rights, Ethics, and Sustainable Procurement.
